I don't know wordpress well enough to know if there's a method for karma/like/polls/whatever. Maybe a plugin?

The Shining Threads / Officers Picks / Site Picks (and so on and so forth, lol) are definitely something that will make a return, in one form or another! However, I think we're waiting for the site to build up a bit more critical mass, so there are lots of things being written and the same people don't get chosen over and over (and over) again.
Although, when I read a post I like I keep looking for the Facebook "Like" button. Sad, I know... but maybe something technological could one day help us in judging which post/string gets an award! I'll start researching!
Keep up that recruiting? ;)
