Character Ranks
To make things more interesting while writing, we have ranks, which are like levels, for you to work towards. These ranks are usually achieved by completing a number of requirements, which you can read more about on the Requirements page. This page also has information about what we mean by certain titles (as you might notice some difference between our site and others), as well as how Officer ranks are chosen, and the propriety that should be observed between ranks.
Basic Ranking Levels:
- First Rank: Newly joined members who write for a novice in the White Tower, or a student on the Training Grounds who has not yet attained any merit badges.
- Mid (Second) Rank: Characters who have been raised to Accepted in the White Tower, or a student on the Training Grounds who has attained two merit badges or more.
- Full (Third) Rank: Aes Sedai who have successfully completed their testing, and bonded Warders.
- Fourth Rank: Sitters of the Hall, Blademasters, a full rank character who has actively held that rank for a year, or an Officer’s character that once held an in character position.
- (Officer) Fifth Rank: Keeper of the Chronicles, Mistress of Novices, Master of Arms
- (Officer) Sixth Rank: Amyrlin Seat
- (Officer) Seventh Rank: Creator, of all sections yet belonging to none.
Propriety
Those of lower rank should always use the honorary word attached to the name of the person they are talking too. For example, a novice should always tag a “Sedai” on to the name of an Aes Sedai, or start with an “Accepted” before talking to the Accepted. (Greetings, Ariana Sedai. Pardon me, Accepted Arwyn.) This goes for the other ranks as well. You don’t have to do this if the person asks you to skip the titles, and the rule (again) isn’t the most vital to RPing; it is merely a sign of respect for the person who has attained more rank than you.
Among those of the same rank, seniority wins. For example, someone who was just raised Accepted is of a lower rank then someone who has been Accepted for three months. This goes for all ranks; whomever has been a member longer is of a higher rank.
